About New Look Vision Group

New Look Vision Group is Canada’s largest eyewear retailer. Founded by a visionary and run by visionaries, the Montreal-based company had grown through acquisitions and partnerships to 477 locations across the United States and Canada. They place customers front and center, believing vision is a fundamental human right, and they invest in the design, technologies, and service to back that up.

The Challenge

Their eCommerce business was growing fast. But their manual order fulfillment process was showing the strain. Processing times were too long. Errors were creeping in. And the complexity of their digital ecosystem — a web of data exchanges between their Magento 2 website, ERP, POS, and CMS — made any technology change feel risky.

New Look brought in Cyper, a digital transformation consultancy, to find and implement a solution. The requirements were exacting: the system had to integrate with Magento 2 Community Edition and align with their full tech stack. It had to connect multiple warehouses, their ERP system, and Canada Post, with the potential to expand to additional carriers. It had to fully automate pick, pack, and ship. And it had to do all of this without disrupting a single day of business operations across 477 locations.

Beyond the technical requirements, the OMS also needed to be out-of-the-box but customizable. Pricing could not be based on online revenue. And the solution needed to allow independence from the provider — New Look wasn’t going to be locked into a vendor they couldn’t leave.

Why SkuNexus

Cyper’s development team researched several OMS options. They evaluated feature sets, integration capabilities, code quality, pricing models, and long-term viability. They came to a definitive conclusion: only one system checked every box.

The decision came down to several factors that together were unique to SkuNexus. The platform was native to Magento 2, so New Look’s existing PHP developers could support it without learning a new ecosystem. The code was modular, making customization efficient rather than expensive. The system was platform-agnostic enough that Cyper didn’t need to write anything from scratch. And the multichannel architecture meant SkuNexus could grow as New Look’s business grew.

Beyond the technology, developers found SkuNexus support and service equally compelling. Answers to questions came quickly. Updates to core functionality were delivered fast. This wasn’t a vendor that would leave them waiting in a ticket queue.

“It’s a simple, clean, best-of-breed solution with straightforward UI/UX. The modular quality of SkuNexus code was akin to working with legos — functionality was simple and made customization more efficient.”

The Implementation

Cyper completed the entire project — from initial analysis to go-live — in nine months. That timeline included a comprehensive series of workshops with New Look employees to analyze the full digital ecosystem, map the integrations between every system element, and understand the complete product and data flow.

The implementation connected SkuNexus to New Look’s Magento 2 Community Edition website, their ERP system, their POS, their CMS, and Canada Post for shipping. Full automation of the pick, pack, and ship process replaced the manual workflows that had been straining under eCommerce growth.

To ensure the transition was seamless, Cyper prepared detailed technical specifications and provided comprehensive documentation covering all steps, code, integration instructions, technical requirements, and server configuration details. New Look employees were trained on the new system as part of the implementation, not as an afterthought.

The result: zero disruption to business operations across 477 locations. Not a single day of downtime. Not a single order lost in transition.

The Results

With SkuNexus in place, New Look has transformed their eCommerce fulfillment operation. Online sales have increased. The pick, pack, and ship process has been significantly improved. And they now have an OMS with the flexibility to expand as the business scales — whether that means new carriers, new warehouses, new countries, or entirely new fulfillment models.

“The modular quality of SkuNexus code was akin to working with legos — functionality was simple and made customization more efficient. Beyond ease of use, the support and service were equally compelling. Answers to questions and updates to core functionality were delivered quickly.”

The Three-Way Partnership

The New Look project demonstrates what happens when the right technology partner, the right implementation partner, and the right client come together. Cyper brought the digital transformation expertise. SkuNexus brought the platform flexibility. New Look brought the operational clarity about what they needed. The nine-month timeline, the zero-disruption cutover, and the seamless multi-system integration are the result of all three working in alignment.

For companies evaluating SkuNexus who worry about implementation complexity, the New Look story is the answer: 477 locations, five integrated systems, nine months, zero disruption.
